First Month, First Boyfriend, First School Pics

Jaelynn turned one month old yesterday! Can you believe it has already been a month? Time flies with these little ones! So what is she up to after this first month of life??
~9 lbs 7 oz
~still wearing newborn diapers
~most newborn clothing is still a little big
~sleeps 6 hours at night
~breaks out of her swaddle but sleeps through it
~loves tummy time and sleeping on her tummy for naps
~lifts her head and has great head control for her age
~tracks objects past midline
~gets her knees up under her and pushes herself forward (she inches all the way up the couch doing this!)
~grunts
~gas, gas, gas (yes, I said it...this is the gassiest child you have ever met!) but I love it because she has the sweetest gas smiles :)
~can stare at her mobiles forever
~loves the bouncer and swing
~loves hair accessories (bows and flowers included!)
~has the greatest big sister ever!

I had the pleasure of watching Mr Hayden the other day while Emily (or as Kaley calls her Emy) went to work for a few hours. I had all three kiddos here and luckily Kaley slept the whole time he was here so I only had to attend to the two little ones. For those who don't know when I go back to work I will be watching Hayden on Mondays and Wednesdays and Emily will be watching the girls Tuesday and Thursday (Kaley will be at MDO most of the day but go over in the afternoon). So, this was a good first run to have them by myself. Emily and I have talked about how Hayden and Jaelynn will probably be more like brother and sister than anything else but for now we will pretend...

What a sweet and handsome little guy!
Two cuties!
I think Jaelynn is turning in for the kiss...
Hayden is having none of that!

Today Kaley had her first "school" pictures at MDO! The photographer was doing the pictures with a Christmas background but I wasn't sure what it would look like so I wanted her to be in something pretty neutral with just a splash of color! When she walked into her class one of her teachers commented on how cute she looked and said that she wished she had Kaley's outfit in her own closet! I do have to say she looked mighty cute in her sweater dress and boots!

Our Little Cupcake Turned 2!

What a fun weekend we had celebrating Kaley's 2nd birthday! Let me start at the beginning...

Thursday: John, Jaelynn and I took cupcakes up to Kaley's MDO class at the end of the day to celebrate. When we got there most of the kiddos were still sleeping but once everyone woke up we sang and ate! Sure enough Kaley was about the only child that ate every single crumb of her cupcake. Most of the other kids just picked at theirs....so tell me why can't my child gain weight???
What we walked in on.
Friends and cupcakes! YUMMY
She is enjoying that cupcake!

Friday: On Friday we had a family day with just us 4. We ran some errands and had some fun. That evening daddy had to work overnight so I had to brave swim lessons by myself with both girls. Jaelynn slept the whole time which was perfect! It was fun to get in the pool with Kaley again since daddy has been the one doing the lessons for the past 8 weeks or so. We also took cupcakes to share with our friends at swimming but mommy forgot the camera! So sorry...this time Kaley and both of the boys that were in her class that night ate ALL of their cupcakes! Later that night Granny and Pop got in from Houston! Kaley was so excited to see them!

Saturday: Kaley spent the morning playing with Granny and Pop. They went to buy birthday balloons at the store, played on her playground outside and had a great time! That afternoon it was party time! We set up the bounce house that John and I bought for her birthday present, cooked out, spent time with family and a few friends, opened presents and of course had more cupcakes! Kaley had a GREAT time and was EXHAUSTED by the end of the night!

Probably the best birthday present ever

Strutting her stuff in her new princess high heels!
Drawing on her easel! Thanks Granny and Pop!!
Singing to the birthday girl!
WOW...that is one BIG cupcake!
Digging in...YUM YUM!

Sunday: Last year on Kaley's 1st birthday we went to the zoo and decided to try and make that a yearly tradition for her birthday. So, Sunday morning it was off to the zoo! Kaley loves the zoo and all of the animals so it was a great way to end the weekend! She even got to take her first train ride!
Checking out some monkeys with Pop.
Watching the orangoutangs play.
Rhinos with Granny.
First time to feed the birds!
Highlight of the day...TRAIN RIDE!

Needless to say we were all pretty wiped after such a busy few days, especially our little 2 year old! I know I say this with every major (and not so major) milestone but I truly cannot believe how fast my little girl is growing up!
