Merry Christmas

I am probably the worst blogger and Christmas card sender EVER...oh well. Since it is Christmas eve and I have yet to send out our Christmas cards I figured I would just post it. Merry Christmas!
Much love,
The Vasels

Birthday Girl

Here are some videos of Kaley opening up her favorite present from her birthday over the weekend. She hasn't taken it off since. I'm sure mommy will have many more pictures to upload but this is my favorite.

Wishin' and Hopin'

These next few posts will be of things that happened back in April/May but since I am so behind I decided to just post them now. Plus, with the extreme heat and drought conditions we have been experiencing I was looking back at photos and longing for rain and cooler temps! These are from a rainy day edible playdoh activity right after I had my surgery (late April).

We did a little playing....

And a whole lotta eating...

But either way it brought a big smile on a gloomy day!
Who wouldn't love to eat playdoh made from peanut butter, honey and powdered sugar? YUM!

What Do You See?

Jaelynn has gotten so independent that she likes to read books to herself before bedtime instead of Mommy and Daddy reading to her. She is growing up way too fast.

Detour

Head on over to http://thehillgers.blogspot.com/2011/07/friends-forever.html to check out a couple videos of Hayden and Jaelynn. Those two are such a sweet couple of friends and have really missed each other this summer since they haven't been together as much.

Summer Fun

There is nothing like a little evening fun in the sun to wrap up a summers day!

Loving some time outside without melting!

Slurping up some juicy watermelon.

Sprinkler fun !

Ready,

Set,

Go!

Weeeeee!

WHOA!!

Nothing like some droopy drawers (and a little crack) to end the evening!

Little LadyBugs

I have a whole bunch of saved posts that I never finished so today while the girls are napping I am hoping to finish a few!

Before it got too hot we were spending a lot of time playing outside. The girls love to be outside and have not been too fond of mommy and daddy saying "No, we can't play outside right now, it is too hot!" These pictures are from back in March during one of our many play times outside.

My girly girl found a ladybug and really enjoyed letting it crawl all over her.
Can you spot it?

Oh no, where did the ladybug go??

Such a ham, all the time!

Then it was time for some hide and seek with daddy!
"Shh, don't tell daddy where I am."

1,2,3...8,9,10

"Ready or not, here I come!"

Looking for daddy!
(Jaelynn is running behind her which is why it looks like she has 3 legs)

An Easter post in June! :)

I am so far behind on posting it is crazy! Life just keeps getting in the way! Well now that it is almost the middle of June here are some photos from Easter! We had a wonderful time celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior with our immediate family, extended family, and church family! It was fun to teach Kaley and see how she was able to comprehend and how much she understood about the Easter story! So amazing to see my sweet girl learning about Jesus and I am so thankful that we found the perfect church home for our family! On to the photos!
Jaelynn hunting for eggs!

Kaley loving on her puppy dressed up as a bunny!

Gramps doing what he does best!

Pop and Savannah getting the kite ready to fly!

Watching the kites.

Picking flowers.

Seriously concentrating on the kite flying!

Picture time!

18 months of pure joy!

I have been meaning to do an 18 month post about Little Miss Jaelynn and even thought about starting it early before she turned 18 months but the thought of how much I needed to write was too daunting! So here I am, trying to catch up as always! This little one has changed so much since I did her 12 month post I don't even know where to begin! Don't feel like you have to read all this info (there are pics below) this is more just for me to remember what she was doing at each age since I am not very good about keeping up with her baby book!
~21 lbs 3 oz; 3-10%
~31.5 inches; 44%
~Primarily in 12 month clothes but some 18 month pants (because of her fluffy bum!) and still fits in 9 month dresses. She wears a size 3 shoe and is just about to grow out of her 6-12 month Pedipeds. What can I say, she is still a little girl!
~3 top teeth, 3 bottom teeth, 2 top molars broken through, 2 bottom molars, one top and one bottom cutting.
~Walking, running, dancing, climbing, starting to jump
~Talking up a storm! It is hard to believe that Kaley was talking more at this age than Jaelynn is because Jaelynn talks A LOT! Putting 2-3 words together "wha doin mommy/daddy/sissy?", "i wan ____", "i wuv woo mommy/daddy/sissy/emy/amma(gramma)/amps (gramps)/emma/lally (sally)/pop/anny (granny)/etc", "bes shoo (bless you) mommy/daddy/sissy/etc"
~Can name many basic animals and knows most all of her animal sounds. Has the absolute cutest kitty meow I have ever heard!
~Starting to sing the ABCs. Sings A,B,C,D,E and then will pick up where you stop pretty much anywhere else in the song.
~Knows many of the Disney Movies already thanks to sissy and asks for "belle and beast" or "ma-ee poppin" as soon as she gets in the car (even though she is still rear facing and can't watch the movies)
~Points to her name when she sees it and says "Jae"
~Says "Jae" when you ask who that is in the mirror (pointing to her)
~Spoon feeds/fork feeds self but prefers to just make a mess of the whole thing!
~Stacks blocks, completes shape sorter, doing simple puzzles,
~Has gone potty on the potty seat a few times.
~Has a serious 'tude and is seriously strong willed
~Teases her sister constantly but also plays so sweetly and follows her around everywhere
~Wants to do everything sissy does and be everywhere sissy is.
~Understands time-out and has been going multiple times a day lately!
She and Hayden are pretty much two peas in a pod whenever they are together. They follow each other around, share toys, don't share toys, push each other over, wrestle with each other on the couch, and they both mimic everything Kaley does at lunch which makes for a very entertaining lunch time!

"Then your face'll surely show it" of Happy and you know it

I also wanted to jot down a few cute/funny stories that have happened recently for my own memory bank!
~When reading a night time prayer book Jaelynn asks "Where God?" and Kaley replies, "Jae God is in your heart and everywhere."
~Watching the girls try to give each other a high five is pretty much the funniest thing I have ever seen! I wish I would have had my video camera or my phone nearby. They have finally learned that Kaley has to keep her hand still and Jaelynn will give her the high five but prior to learning that=mom rolling on the floor laughing.
~Kaley praying before bed: "Dear God, Thank you for my mommy, daddy, Jaelynn, and Bayla. Thank you for my school and church and Kylie, and gymnastics. Please help Jae not to kick and splash in the bath tub. Amen"
~Hayden sneezes then Kaley says: "Bless you Hayden",
Hayden sneezes again and Kaley says: "Bless you Hayden" Hayden sneezes AGAIN and Kaley says: "Bless you Hayden" Then Jaelynn looks at Hayden and says "Do dank doo" "do dank doo" (As in do thank you or say thank you)

Time for this mama to get to bed! I have so many more stories to write down but that will have to come later!
