Christmas in January?!

I have seriously been lacking with my blogging and I apologize to those of you who actually read it! I hate that I haven't posted in forever! John is the one that posted the park/zoo blog the other day so props to him (even though I wasn't thrilled with some of the pics he posted). Anyways, I have been telling my mom I would do a Christmas post for a while now so I am finally getting it done. We had a wonderful Christmas and I am so glad that we were able to spend it with Granny, Pop, GiGi, Great-Grandpa E and Uncle Chris (my dad's brother).

I made my first homemade Christmas presents this year!
A crayon roll and art tote for my niece Marley!
They weren't perfect but I was still excited with how they turned out!

Sisters doing a puzzle together!

Jaelynn playing with Uncle Chris!

Christmas morning!
The girls did have matching PJs on but since Jaelynn got up so early
we had already had to do a PJ change before everyone else got up!

This little one woke up at 4:30 Christmas morning!
Needless to say she was a little pooped after presents!

Kaley was enamored with Uncle Chris from the moment he arrived!
Watching Beauty and The Beast! (which we have now watched 100x!

Granny and Pop in their Christmas presents from Peru!

A few ornaments.

The keyboard with microphone was definitely the favorite present!

Some more cuddle time!

We had a wonderful time celebrating the birth of our Savior with family! We are so blessed with all He has provided us. The girls were way too spoiled but it was fun to see Kaley really get into it and start understanding what we were celebrating!

When the cold weather is away, the girls will play

Took advantage of the warm weather and took the girls to the zoo and park this weekend. They had a blast!

Who me?

I can honestly say that I NEVER thought I would be the kind of mom that would get into cloth diapering. I never really even considered the idea because it just wasn't me and I didn't want any extra work! Well, never say never!

A few months ago two of my friends started using cloth and they would post on FB or their blogs about it. The truth is I only started researching it because I was thinking what in the world are these crazy moms doing (no offense Lizze and Rikki)! As I looked into it and talked to my sweet friends I learned that CDing isn't that much more work than using disposables and it is way better on the checkbook, environment, and your babies bottom! I am not going to lie...initially all I cared about was how much money it could save me. Then as I got further into it I learned more about the chemicals they put in disposables and how bad for the environment disposables are. I am not going to make this post all about why you should switch because I know that it is not for everyone and I am in no way judging anyone that doesn't use cloth. For me I just couldn't NOT make the switch to cloth after everything I read.
We started trying out cloth at the beginning of December and have just in the past week been able to switch to full time cloth! This weekend I put up a makeshift clothesline in the backyard to hang dry our CD when the weather is nice!
When I look at these pictures all I can think is, "Is this really me?"; but it is and so far things are working out! I am so blessed to have a husband that is not only willing to try but supportive about it!

A special thanks to Lizze and Rkki for answering my thousands of questions! I am sure I will have more as we continue! Check out Lizze's new blog Diaperville to read all about her adventures in cloth diapering and living a greener lifestyle!
