Speculating...

It is exactly 12 hours and 39 minutes before my appointment tomorrow.  I know, I know it is sad that I know that.  Anyways, I just got finished telling John that I need to make myself stay up until I am exhausted and just fall into bed because I feel like it is Christmas Eve and I am about 5 years old!  I am so excited about tomorrow.  I am just hoping this little bit cooperates and shows us what we want to see...a healthy boy or girl!  I know that if I tried to go to bed right now I would just stare into the dark with my mind racing...
Will we see a healthy baby with a good strong heartbeat?
Will the baby cooperate enough to allow us to get a good look?
Will we have a baby Jaelynn or a baby Pearson?  (By the way those are our probable names, Jaelynn Lee and Pearson John)
Will Kaley have a sister or brother?
Am I going to get to decorate 2 rooms (Kaley's big girl room and a baby boy nursery) or will we pass down all of Kaley's nursery items to a baby girl?
Am I going to have to learn all about the things that go along with having a boy or will it be all the things I know from having Kaley?
Will John be surrounded by females or will he finally have a male companion?

OK, well I am watching the Chicago/Boston game and wasn't really interested until the Celtics just tied it again and they are now going into the 3rd overtime!  Gotta go!  I will post tomorrow!

Friends

Saturday night we had a few people over to watch the first Mavs/Spurs game.  Kaley was loving all of the male attention she got!  Between Daddy, Uncle AJ, Gramps/Grandpa, and Justin, she was in heaven!  There was always a "big strong" man to hold her!  I am definitely going to be in trouble when she gets older!  It was nice to have a fun relaxing night at home with a few family and friends.  (As a side note...we love having Em and Justin live so close!  I
t has been great to have someone to call to borrow a lawn mower, propane tank or a ladel...or to just meet halfway when your cell phone isn't working!  I can't wait for Hayden and Little Bit #2 to get here!  They will only be about 10 weeks apart which will be great!)  Anyways, here are some pics from that night.
Kaley and Justin...they are both equally in love with each other!
Em and Justin reading Kaley a book (I think it was only like the 10th time...just getting ready for little Hayden!)

Up next was play date time!  Kaley and I had a play date with 2 of my work friends from Baylor who no longer really work there (just fill in).  The play date consisted of Kaley and myself, Megan and Ruby (11 months) as well as Rikki, Charlie (2 years) and Violet (3 months).  Quite a range of ages!  Megan and I took our girls out to go see the DeGrove's new house out in Dallas.  The kids didn't really "play" too much...there was a little screaming about toys, Kaley chasing Charlie, playing in the firetruck tent, kissing, playing/eating sidewalk chalk, looking at baby Violet, and a lot of sippy cup sharing!  I think the majority of the time was spent saying "No _____ (insert appropriate child's name) that one isn't yours.  Here is your cup."  Overall, it was a great time for all!  I got to see two great friends and spend time catching up and Kaley was able to interact with kids of various ages.   It was also good to see her with a baby since we are going to visit her cousin baby Marley next month!  Anyways, here are some pics of the play date.

I think at this point we were trying to get the girls to kiss Charlie who was not about to have any of that!

Her favorite!

As for Little Bit #2 and me, we are doing great!  I am already starting to feel an increase in my energy level in the start of this second trimester!  John and I are getting super excited and anxious to find out the sex of Little Bit.  (I still feel girl for those who are wondering.)  So far we have no possible names but we are thinking about it more and more so we shall see.

Easter/Big Sister

Sorry it has taken me so long to post after the Easter weekend.  I won't go into too much but just wanted to touch base.  We had a great Easter weekend visiting family down in San Antonio.  We were able to spend time with my (Emily's) grandparents, Aunt and 5 cousins.  Sunday morning I went to the sunrise service while John and Kaley slept in (just a little too early for our girl).  As I mentioned in the last post I was able to see my Grandmother do her clown communion.  It was truly amazing!  I wish I could explain how powerful the message was but I know I wouldn't do it justice.  It is just something you have to experience for yourself.
Sunday evening we spent the evening with John's family.  Kaley "hunted" for eggs/toys and we had a wonderful Easter dinner!  It was an awesome weekend spent with family.

Kaley and I had a "Big Sister" photo shoot the other day.  This is a shirt I made for her as a way to tell our families we were expecting Little Bit number 2.  It says "Soon to be Big Sister".  I took about 50 pictures of her while she was playing and I really wanted to post them all but I just picked a few to share!  She is going to be such a good big sister.  I am not sure if I told everyone, I will have to go back into my previous posts to see but just in case I didn't our next prenatal appointment is May 1st, so if Little Bit cooperates we should be able to find out the sex!

Big Girl

Happy early Easter!  we are headed down to San Antonio this weekend to visit family for Easter weekend.  I (Emily) am so excited because I will get to see my Grandmother do her clown communion for the first time.  Yes, you heard that right, my Grandmother is a clown!  She has been clowning for a log time now (probably over 10 years) and from what I hear the communion service that she does is very powerful.  I can't wait to see it.  I will share more after and hopefully some pictures!

Anyways, I don't have too much to say, just wanted to share some pictures of my big girl!

Check out the piggy tails!!  Hehe!
Pointing out a plane
"Holding" Daddy
So that last picture really made me remember when Kaley was a newborn and how she LOVED to sleep on Daddy's chest!  When I looked back at one of the first pictures of her sleeping on Daddy it really made nostalgic of my "baby" girl!  You can tell this picture is from the first few days because you can see her coloring affected by the jaundice!

Favorite sleeping place!
While looking back really makes me miss my baby Kaley it also makes me excited for the arrival of our new little one (not that I am in any hurry for this baby to make its appearance!).  I am quite content keeping this bun in the oven for quite a while!

HAPPY GOOD FRIDAY and have a great Easter!

Little Bit 1 and 2! (No, not twins!)

Where to start...well, life is moving right along here in the Vasel household.  Kaley spent last weekend with her Granny while mommy and daddy took a short notice trip to Las Vegas for Uncle Richard's wedding!  The wedding was beautiful and mommy and daddy had a ton of fun and actually came out ahead at the weekends end!

Kaley is also taking swim lessons and really seems to enjoy it!  She is the only one in her class who is calm when floating on her back.  All the others kick, squirm, and cry.  She is also going under the water and learning to blow bubbles (we aren't so good at that yet...she just likes to drink the water).

Mommy had a prenatal appointment yesterday and everything looks good! (Sonogram pic at the bottom)  Little bit #2's heartbeat was 154.  The doctor moved mommy's due date to October 18 (a whole 3 days earlier) based on all the information and sonogram's up until now. So mommy is pretty much just thinking she is due sometime between October 15 (the due date based on the first day of last period) and October 21 (the due date based on first sonogram).  So really the 18th isn't so bad, right in the middle.

Don't want to bore you too much so hear is what I am sure you are wanting!

Another example of what happens when daddy watches Kaley!
Rockin' the side pony thanks to mommy!
Playing outside...a favorite!
Little Bit Vasel #2 at 11.5 weeks.
When mommy showed Kaley the sonogram picture and asked her what it was Kaley said "BABY"!  She is just too cute.  She is also learning "Where is the baby?" and she will point to mommy's belly!
