Head Above Water

I just have to start this post out by saying that I truly have the most amazing, loving, wonderful husband ever.  I don't know if I could survive without him.  He is the most selfless person I know and I am so blessed that he chose me to spend his life with.  Not only is he an amazing husband but he is an awesome father.  Today I sat from afar just watching him play with his little girl and was so moved with the love that was pouring out of him.  She may only be 8 months old but she is already a true daddy's girl and has John wrapped around her little finger

Life is busy as usual here in the Vasel house.  We went down to Houston for the fourth of July weekend and it was great fun.  Here is a video clip of the car ride!

Granny and Great-Grammy got back from their 18 day trip to Ireland while we were there so we were able to hear all about their adventures.  We went swimming and Kaley went underwater for the first time!  She did so well until everyone started cheering and then she got a little scared.  We also spent time with the rest of the family Pop, Uncle Lee and Aunt (we hope sometime in the future) Ashley.

Leaning in for the kiss!
Kaley pulling him in for another!

This weekend was busy as well.  I actually had a night out on Friday with the girls from work.  It is only like the second time I have been out in a year and a half (since I got pregnant).  It was so much fun and I am already looking forward to the next one.  Yesterday we had some friends in town and had a little cookout which was fun.  Then we got up nice and early to go do a 5K to support one of the kiddos I work with.  I wish I could share with you how truly amazing this kid and his family are but you would have to see it yourself.  I ask that even though you may not know him please keep this sweet child and his family in your prayers as they have a long journey ahead of them.
**update:  Our sweet little Evan that I was talking about above was on the news this evening so I can share it with you since it was made public!  Here is a link to the video from the news...yes that is me in the video!! Evan-Man  You have to watch a commercial before the video plays!

The rest of the day was spent relaxing as much as we could to recover from the busy weekend.  We are pretty sure Kaley is about to get her first tooth as she seems to have all the symptoms.  I hope that she is not in too much pain and it comes in quickly.

I am taking John to Las Vegas next month for his birthday so that is one thing we are really looking forward to.  However, it will be my first time away from my girl (for 5 days!) so I am dreading that.  It will be so much fun seeing as neither of us have been before.  Lee (my brother) and Amy (my god-sister, at least that's what I have always called her) will be joining us for part of the trip!

With life as busy as it is we are trying to stay afloat and enjoy every moment because it sure is flying by!
