An End in Sight

I have been meaning to post since last week about what all is going on with little miss Jaelynn and I but have just not found the time until now.  Last week I went in for my weekly check-up and my blood pressure was up a little but not to the point that we needed to be overly concerned, I was starting to retain more water and have a lot of headaches.  Taking those things into account as well as my history with my first pregnancy Dr New warned me that depending on how the next week went there was a good possibility that he would not let me go past 39 weeks just to be cautious and not cause any unnecessary risk to me or Jaelynn.  So, off we went after that appointment with instructions to "take it easy" and monitor my blood pressure throughout the week.  Luckily my mom and dad left me their BP monitor the last time they were in town so I have been able to check it multiple times a day.  It stayed pretty consistent all week - up a little but nothing to cause any additional concern.  I have had a lot more swelling this past week accompanied by more headaches but other than that I am surviving.  

Yesterday it was back to the doctor where he pretty much just said we will see you next friday (10.9.09) at 6AM in labor and delivery unless she decides to come before then (which is still what mommy is hoping for).  So...if little miss has not made her debut before next friday we will head on in to the hospital where the Dr will break my water which will hopefully start my contractions and send me into labor without having to use Pitocin.  Well, that's that.  I am looking forward to meeting my baby girl and praying that everything goes smoothly without any further or more serious complications.  Please keep us in your prayers over this next week as we prepare for Jaelynn's arrival.  I will keep everyone posted as things progress!
