The Craziness Begins

The craziness of the next couple of weeks officially started Friday. We started off the day great! Kaley ate over 3 tablespoons of cereal! That is the most she has eaten to date. She was a full and happy girl as we left to go for our helmet fitting. Kaley was the picture perfect baby throughout the appointment. The envy of everyone. She didn't cry or fuss. The appointment was a lot easier than we were expecting. All they did was give her a burglar pantyhose ski mask and sit her on a stool that was surrounded by about 20 cameras. They took 3 different pictures where all the cameras fired at once and then made a 3D image from that and it's over. I am so glad that we were able to get in after they stopped casting (which just occurred Wednesday). So that was it for that appointment. We go in Monday, April 7 to get the helmet and then every Friday after that to get it re-sized.

Up next, the walk through/orientation of our new home. We dropped Kaley off at Emily's (a friend of mine from work) for her first non-family baby-sitting. Then John and I headed off to meet my Dad, who drove in from Houston, at the house. We went through the whole house with the field manager, Juan, and marked everything that needed to be fixed with painters tape. I think Juan got sick of walking behind me and taping everything because he finally just gave up and gave me the tape to do it myself. He also told me that he should hire me to go through all of his houses before he presents them to the families to check over everything. I was just a little picky! But I am allowed to be because it is not only our first home but a new home which means it needs to be next to perfect! The house really looks great and most of the work that needs to be done is paint touch ups. We are all set to close next Friday and could not be more excited.

I have to go feed Kaley so John will continue...Whatsup, whatsup, John here to continue on with the craziness of this week. After we got back, we found our wonderful dog cowering in the corner. This usually suggests that the puppy did something she wasn't supposed to. Everything looked okay in the apartment except for an envelope on the floor that was half eaten. As I was looking at the envelope, trying to figure out what it was, I remember talking to our bank yesterday and ordering our cashier's check for the down payment on our house. My heart sank to the floor. Emily went in to investigate and thankfully Balyla only chewed up the half of the envelope that did not have the check. It's a little wrinkled but still legit. The FedEx person must have slipped the check under our door while we were out.

Emily and I had some errands to run on Saturday morning, so Pops got to spend some time alone with his granddaughter. After that we took full advantage of Pops' knowledge (and gift cards) and headed out to Home Depot to prep for the new house. We got all of our paint brushes and some quarts of paint to test on the house this coming weekend. Emiy has issues making up her mind on colors for our rooms. Hopefully she will like the colors that we picked out.

Grandpa Vasel surprised us on Thursday with some gorgeous pictures of Kaley. We are very grateful to have a professional photographer in the family. For more information on the wonderful photographer who took these amazing pictures please visit vaselsuniquephotography.com.

Kaley started another solid food this weekend. Apples! She has tasted apple juice already so it wasn't quite new to her. It was still funny to wacth the first few bites.

This next week will probably feel extremely long because of the anticipation of getting into our new house. If we have any volunteers for movers please let us know.

Peace out

Do I have any green beans on my face?
